CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
FIRST KONNECTION (PRESCHOOL) is our ministry to children just starting out in this life, ages birth to 5 years. It provides an amazing time for our committed leaders to interact with and teach the youngest of our church. We provide a clean, safe, and fun environment for your preschoolers. It is a privilege for us to allow you opportunity to worship and learn while we love on your children. You may drop off your little ones beginning at 9:00 am. We will provide fun and learning for them until the end of service at approximately 12:15 pm. Our staff has been approved through a process of background checks and interviews and places a great degree of importance on the safety and well being of your child/children. SHOUT (MOM'S MINISTRY) How often do you find yourself shouting during the day? Do you shout to be heard, shout for all to be quiet, or sometimes shout on the inside when it has all become too much? You are not alone! No matter the age of your children, if you are a mom you understand the need to shout. You also know the need to have others around you...those who will offer you support, encouragement, and sometimes just the opportunity to take a break. This is the heart of SHOUT, the mom's ministry of Albuquerque's First Baptist Church. Our desire is to come along side the moms of our community and offer the possibility of friendship, fellowship and an extra shoulder to help in whatever situation you find yourself. We celebrate the joy of being moms and treasure the friendships that can be built during this stage of life. In the midst of all life's shouting, come join us as we SHOUT for joy!
KID KONNECITON (ELEMENTARY) is the umbrella under which our Children's Ministry operates. Our goal is to produce a well-rounded child through teaching the elements of discipleship, evangelism, fellowship, service, and worship. Children's Ministry exists to SURGE forward in sharing Christ with the children of our community, helping them TUNE IN and realize who they are in Christ; ENGAGE God in a way that changes their life forever; PLUG IN with other Christians; and POWER UP to a deeper level of following Christ. KLUB KONNECTION is an exciting time during which we divide into age-appropriate small groups to do in-depth study of the Bible. A different virtue, such as courtesy, cooperation, honesty, or trust, is studied each month and applied in every area of Children's Ministry. Klub Konnection meets every Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10:30 am.
KID'S KLUB is a special time of worship for children in kindergarten through 6th grade. Meeting at the same time as Adult worship, it incorporates energetic music, humorous drama, and biblical teaching. We feel children were created to worship in their own individual way and we want to provide an atmosphere which will allow each child to worship like a child. It is a time of learning and participation in the form of drama and motion that teaches biblical foundations and virtues. We meet every Sunday at 10:45 am in the gym at Petroglyph.
LINK is open to children from kindergarten through 4th grade, LINK meets each Wednesday evening at 6:15 pm. Using the elements of Music, Missions, and Reinforcement of Sunday's virtue studies, the program seeks to communicate the message of Jesus in a creative way. While all three elements are taught, one will receive special focus each week on a rotating basis.
AWANA is a nationally based program which blends Bible teaching, evangelism, Scripture memorization, and exciting games. Impacting kids from 3 years old through 6th grade, our AWANA Club meets Sunday evenings beginning at 5:10 pm. Please register in the atrium area immediately through the main entrance of the school. The cost for membership is $25 for the first child, $15 for the second, and $10 for the third. All additional children in your family are free.
WI-FI is aimed at ministering to preteen students, ages 10 through 12, by strengthening their relationship with God through expanding their knowledge of the Bible, missions, and the ever-changing world around them. Students are encouraged to take concepts one step further than what they have previously learned in Children's Ministry. At least once a month we plan a "Fun Day" in hopes of building stronger relationships with the preteens and getting to know them and their families. "Fun Days" provide students with an opportunity to reach out to and invite in their friends.
